The ladies of American Legion Auxiliary Unit 21 hosted their semi-annual High Tea on Saturday, Apr. 5 at the Heritage Town Center in Buffalo Center. They welcomed a crowd of about 75 people, who enjoyed a variety of teas along with lunch and music. There was also a fashion show featuring clothing from Weaver’s Leather Store. Among the guests attending the High Tea were, from left: Sheryl Davids, Shirley Hagenson, Doris Heyes, Joan Sunde, Allison Hofland, Laura Sunde, and Vicki Wubben.

Lyle Hippen, center, is turning over DeVries Lumber Co. to Dan, left, and Kevin Hassebroek, after a 59-year career at the local lumberyard. Kevin has had his eye on the business since moving back to the area three years ago, and he will take over the day-to-day operations at DeVries Lumber. Dave Kopp plans to continue on as yardman.
