Devine holds final services here Sunday

Pastor Deb Devine will depart from United Methodist Churches in Buffalo Center and Thompson at the end of June to become a full-time pastor.

Pastor Deb has served the local Methodist churches since 2011, as she came here to take her first preaching job after completing a course in lay ministry. She has been serving both churches in a part-time capacity, but now she will move to a full-time position; serving United Methodist Churches in Klemme, Goodell and Thornton.

Her last day preaching in Buffalo Center and Thompson will be Sunday, June 24.

“It is with a heavy heart that I say goodbye to the communities of Buffalo Center and Thompson,” said Pastor Deb. “It has been a privilege to serve and be their pastor.”

Pastor Deb will be working a little closer to home, as she and her husband, Jim, live in Corwith.

She says Jim is looking to retire this year, so finding a full-time position with insurance is a good fit for her.
