Georgia Mae Jacobson, age 91, of Rake, died Saturday, June 6, 2020 at the Lake Mills Care Center. Private family services were held at Oakcrest Funeral Services of Buffalo Center with Pastor Doug Rokke officiating. A Celebration of Life visitation where the family will greet friends will be held Saturday, Aug. 22, at Zion Lutheran Church in Rake from 2 to 4 p.m. Social distancing practices will be followed, and the family requests that attendees please wear masks.

Georgia was born Aug. 6, 1928 in Bricelyn, MN, the daughter of Isaac and Anna (Berg) Voldahl. She was baptized and confirmed at Bethany Lutheran Church in rural Frost, MN. Georgia attended Frost High School, graduating in 1946. Following graduation, she attended business school in Minneapolis, MN. Georgia did secretarial work before marriage and later at the Rake Community School. On July 9, 1955, she married Vernon Jacobson at Zion Lutheran Church in Rake.

Georgia enjoyed family, reading, computer, games, and crafts. She was involved in teaching preschool, and she was a longtime member of Zion Lutheran Church and the Rake American Legion Auxiliary.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Vernon; a daughter, Amy (Kent) Jones of Council Bluffs; a son, Jon (Tami) Jacobson of Rake; and two grandsons: David Jones of Chicago, IL, and Aaron Jacobson of Minneapolis, MN; sisters: Corrine Danielson of Camarillo, CA, LaDonna (Jack) Lindquist of San Jose, CA, Dianne (Lynn) Riggs of Roseville, MN, and Susan (Norm) Sherwood of Lino Lakes, MN; a brother-in-law, Bill Hermann of Plymouth, MN; and many nieces and nephews.

Georgia was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters: Shirley Larsen and Patricia Hermann; a brother, Leon Voldahl; two brothers-in-law: Louis Larsen and Melvin Danielson; and a sister-in-law, Lorraine Voldahl.
