New school year approaches

     North Iowa Community School held walk-in registration last Tuesday afternoon, Aug. 1, as the new school year is quickly approaching. The first day of classes this year will be Wednesday, Aug. 23 for high school students, and elementary and middle school begin classes on Thursday, Aug. 24.

     Some dates to keep in mind before the start of school include the fifth grade and ninth grade transition nights on August 15 at 6 p.m., back-to-school conferences for elementary and middle school on August 22 and 23, and high school computer rollout on August 23.
