Plans set for 4th of July

North Iowa Betterment will host the annual 4th of July celebration in Buffalo Center next Wednesday, with events all day from 10 a.m. until dusk.

The Bison Firecracker Parade kicks things off at 10 a.m. The parade will organize at Bison Field and follow a route through Mill Road, 2nd Ave. NW, Main Street and 5th Ave. NE before arriving at Lion’s Park.

The NIB concession stand opens at the park at 11:30 a.m., and activities including inflatables, a bouncy house and obstacle course will run from 12-7 p.m. A bean bag tournament will be held at 1 p.m., located at the softball field.

WCTA will sponsor a tractor pedal pull in the park at 2 p.m. Also beginning at that time is Music in the Park, which runs from 2-4 p.m.

Bingo is scheduled in the park from 4-6 p.m., and the Heritage Town Center and Heritage Museum will be open from 4-8 p.m. for cake and ice cream and a new exhibit.

The kids’ carnival will be held from 5-7 p.m. at Lion’s Park. A pie and cake auction takes place at 6:15 p.m., and the Junior Olympics follow at 7:15 p.m.

The Buffalo Center Fire Department will light up the sky at dusk with a fireworks display at Bison Field.
