Winn-Worth Betco welcomes new director

The Winn-Worth Betco Executive Board and Marketing Director Melissa Michaelis are pleased to introduce Warren Wortham, who officially began his role as the Executive Director of Winn-Worth Betco on November 26, 2018.

The Executive Board worked with Community Economic Development Association (CEDA) to recruit a new Executive Director, following the resignation of longtime director Teresa Nicholson. After a rigorous recruitment and applicant screening process, the WWB Executive Board interviewed and approved of Wortham on November 12.

In this role, Wortham will oversee Winnebago and Worth Counties’ Economic Development office, leading the efforts to foster and encourage best practices in economic development activities. Winn-Worth Betco’s focus on economic development has developed significant momentum in recent years, recognizing that economic growth and vitality are critical to sustain and enhance the economic, cultural, and natural characteristics of our rural community.

Prior to joining the CEDA family, Wortham served as Executive Director of the Jesse Cosby Neighborhood and Senior Center. He was then recruited by Hawkeye Community College to serve as a Workforce Development Specialist of the school’s Martin Luther King Jr. Center; a position he held for eight years.
