Donations for the North Iowa Giving Tree got off to a good start, with the Sock-A-Thon at North Iowa Middle School more than doubling its goal of 150 pairs of socks. Students collected a grand total of 387 pairs of socks, which will go to Giving Tree families this Christmas.
The middle school homerooms competed to see who could bring in the most socks, and Mrs. Stanton’s homeroom nearly reached the initial goal all by themselves as they led with 148 pairs. The group of sixth graders was rewarded with a pizza party Friday, Dec. 1, and Casey’s donated the pizzas.
